Timeline

This day in AD 274

Constantine the Great, Roman emperor (306-337), the first Roman emperor to be converted to Christianity was born.

"I believe that it is better to tell the truth than a lie.
I believe it is better to be free than a slave. And I believe
it is better to know than to be ignorant."
- H. L. Mencken

Alas,
The more you learn, the more you know
the more you know, the more you forget
the more you forget, the less you know
the less you know, the more ignorant you are.
Ergo,
The more you learn, the more ignorant you are!
- I. M. Afool

The Iceman Cometh

Rene Descartes, French philosopher, scientist, mathematician, and often called the founder of modern philosophy extended his inquiries to embrace the general principles of all knowledge, Descartes commenced by subjecting everything including doubt itself, to the test of doubt. His frequently quoted words:
Cogito ergo sum - I think therefore I am
is offered by him as a certainty and becomes the foundation on which he builds an edifice spacious enough to contain considerable amount of knowledge.

In our present situations, I feel that people, old and young alike, inundated by special-interest propaganda and government double-talk in the guise of facts, are desperately searching for the truth and honesty in the information given them. I feel that young people are eager to learn about things that are relevant to their lives and to grasp knowledge and hold on to it. The majority of people including me have been muted, unheard, and helpless.

Thanks to the wonders of science and technology. We are now given a chance to voice out our opinions, a chance to be heard, and a chance to be helpful by way of assistance in providing informations.
