BIRD-WATCHING 101

WOOD DUCK

The wood duck nests in tree hollows
as high as 15-m (50-ft) aboveground. The
coloration of the male (below) includes
iridescent greens and blues with white striping.
The female is more sedately colored.

"The bird-watcher's life is an endless succession of surprises."

W.H. Hudson -- The Book of a Naturalist.
