TATTLETALE

Hans has this habit of looking at me as if studying my mood and my facial expressions when something goes wrong. Upon noticing this, I would quickly ask him, "Do you have something to tell me?" More often than not, he would tell me that he did something stupid a kid normally does.

Some children, afraid of being called tattletale, would keep something for themselves. Being a parent, we should encourage our children to open-up when something goes wrong, that sometimes it is okay to tattle.

IT'S OKAY TO TATTLE WHEN...

  • a friend or family member is making choices that could harm them.
  • a friend is being hurt by someone but is afraid to tell someone about it.
  • you witness a minor being abuse by neighbours or his/her relative(s).
  • someone is bullying you in school. This is a total war!!
  • someone is threatening to hurt you or has hurt you.
  • a child has been neglected.

The basic rule is to tell an adult when someone is in danger even if the person doesn't want you to tell. You may just save that person from being hurt or getting worse.

This is a very nice explanation of the word. Children tend to be very nosy at times. For fear of being reprimanded they'd rather keep silent.
