Egoist/Egotist.An egoist is a person who is selfish and self-centered. So is an egotist, and more -- an unrelenting braggart with an exaggerated and unrealistic concept of self-importance. It is quite possible to be an egoist and not an egotist. Of the two, the egotist is probably the more disliked person.
